'Tis a simple tale that goes sommat like this: a Cuban-style rendition and vid of Arctic's track 'Dancing Shoes' was knocked out in collaboration with Rhythms Del Mundo in December 2006. But for some unknown reason, the group controversially pulled it - despite it being donated to the charity Artists Project Earth (APE).
Well three years later, said charity is saying 'up yours' Monkeys, and has released it as an official download to raise money and awareness for the fight against climate change.
"I know we'll be in danger of upsetting the Arctic Monkeys and we are grateful that they gave us their performance in the first place," said APE founder Kenny Young, "but the situation regarding climate change is too crucial and we can't wait. We need to raise awareness and funds and this video is brilliant, so we're going to go ahead and release it."
