*NIRVANA LIVE AT READING 1992* out in November on CD and DVD*
Voted by NME readers as the GREATEST MOMENT IN NIRVANA'S HISTORY, the grunge king's headline show at Reading in 1992 IS one of the most memorable gigs in the history of rock music.
Sadly, back then, as a child on the cusp of teenagery, I was over at the Radio 2 mini-stage checking out Katrina and the Waves gallantly sift through several different versions of their hit 'Walking On Sunshine'. So I missed the Nirvana show. And apparently I was sick after a dodgy paella from one of those stalls. So all in all, it wasn't a good weekend.
Fortunately for misinformed pubescent dimwits like me, the entire 25-song blast of RAW ENERGY and cacophonic, sweat-addled grunge buzz has been rolled up, dirrrtied up and officially pressed onto CD and DVD for the FIRST TIME EVER. That's classics like 'Lithium', 'All Apologies' and 'Sliver' being ripped out at their absolute peak.
Check out the shouty set opener 'SCHOOL' from the vintage 'Bleach' album in the video player at the top... It is ACE.
