If you love music, chances are you have seen many, many Lawrence Watson photographs over the past couple of decades. After starting out shooting for the NME at the tender age of 17 Watson went out to New York in the early 80s just in time to catch Run DMC, Eric B and Rakim and Public Enemy at their creative peaks. Since then, if you were cool, stylish and rocked, Watson will have caught you in his lens. Effortlessly cool iconic images of The Smith, Oasis, Paul Weller, Shane MacGowan and Damon Albarn have rolled out of Watson's darkroom, covering everything from book covers to album sleeves to magazine covers. If you are in London between May 29th and June 7th, the exhibition is running at the Londonewcastle Project Space, 28 Redchurch Street, E2 7DP. Go along and have a look. And if you can't but would love to linger over Mr Watson's lovely work you can buy his book The World Is Yours. The show is launched in conjunction with Adidas as part of their 60th anniversary.
