Apparently, this album was inspired by the painkiller-fuelled comedown following a bust-up between Caleb and brother Nathan. Whether this is true, we don't know. What we do know is that Only By The Night is another example of KOL's assured talents. Different yet familiar, it's a terrific album that The Strokes would do well to take heed of.
