WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Based on another comic by Sin City writer/artist Frank Miller, 300 is a very, very, very loose retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae, in which a small band (300, in fact) of Spartan warriors held off an enormous invading army of Persians in 480BC.

ANY GOOD? Hell yes! The above is a cool story in itself, but this has the added bonus of battle-rhinos, mutants, ninjas and every ludicrous add-on you could possibly imagine. The battle scenes (which make up most of the film) are simply stunning.
