WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Global warming and the greenhouse effect trigger hurricanes, earthquakes, tidal waves and floods all over America, signalling the start of a new Ice Age. Can climatologist Adrian Hall save the planet and reach his son stranded in New York by the extreme conditions?
BEST SCENE: New York gets hit by a colossal tidal wave. Goodbye Empire State Building and Statue Of Liberty.
TO BE HONEST: Another overblown, thoroughly daft disaster flick from Roland Emmerich, who also directed Independence Day. The characters are sketchily drawn and the second half is a bit slow, but who cares when the CGI effects are so spectacular and memorable?
