Dennis Potter's twisted tale of dreams, disappointment and showtunes gets the big screen treatment. Downey Jr is the bed-bound mystery writer living out a fantasy life as a film noir detective, working his nurse (Wright Penn) and his doctor (Gibson) into his imaginary world. Weird, but fairly wonderful, it could be the film to put former druggie Downey Jr back on top.
