The Matrix Revolutions Rating: Starring: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss UK Certificate: 18
The final instalment of the martial-arts sci-fi extravaganza sees Neo (Reeves) and his slickly-attired mob of rebels try to pull the plug on the Matrix once and for all. But is everything really as it seems?
Okay, so you were disappointed with The Matrix Reloaded (especially that peculiar rave scene in Zion), but the Wachowski brothers have had a few extra months to iron out the wrinkles of this final chunk. So with the high-minded pseudo-philosophical gobbledegook out of the way, they're free to pack in more of the balls out, bullet-time arse-kicking that made the first film such a blast. And there's more magnificent Monica Bellucci to get you through the quiet bits.
Neo versus Agent Smith in and outside the Matrix? Upside-down gravity- defying kung fu in an S&M nightclub? A 14-minute battle sequence as humanity scraps to save Zion when the machines come a-knocking? Game on...
