WHAT'S IT ABOUT? True story of a girl terrorised by poltergeist in 1818. Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek watch on as the definitely-more-than-perturbed parents.
ANY GOOD? A super atmospheric, slow burner, despite obvious cliches. Could get right under your skin if you let it. Like tapeworm.
QUOTE FOR THE POSTER: 'Scenes in this film will haunt you forever! (Like when Peter Beardsley slipped free in a football match once).'
REASON TO WATCH: Makes The Sixth Sense look dumb in comparison. (Though to be fair, Scary Movie 3 fulfilled that task with amiable conviction).
