A 'bellini' is a crook's dream job - loads of money, very little risk. A 'malinski' is a desperate man who will accept money to admit to a crime he didn't commit - thereby covering for the real perpetrator.
In this comedy heist movie, Cosmo (Guzman) hears about a bellini and needs a malinksi to take the rap for him. Sadly for Cosmo, there is no honour amongst thieves and pretty soon all his would-be malinskis have joined forces to steal his bellini.
And so we are left with a gang of five with barely a brain between them, trying, Clouseau-style, to rob a pawnbroker's. Produced by Steven Ocean's 11 Soderbergh, the script is every bit as smart and snappy as the crooks are slow and stupid. So for every gag you can see coming a mile away, there are two or three that catch you unawares, keeping you guessing as to what will happen next.
