The Pianist

Set in Poland from 1939 to 1945, and told from the perspective of a young Jewish musician, Roman Polanski's semi-autobiographical film strives to be a highly personal account of the Holocaust, but ends up more often than not resembling a history lesson. That said, at least the attention to detail is impressive, while Brody as the titular character is outstanding.
