The queen of chick flicks in what can only be described as a hick flick. Witherspoon is Melanie Carmichael, a New York designer set to marry the Governor's son. Trouble is, she's also Mrs Smooter, born and bred (and already married)in Alabama. Returning home to sort out her divorce, she discovers - and this'll be a shock to y'all - that she misses Alabama. Take your girlfriend... you'll live.
