Ah yes, Simon Pegg. For every Shaun of the Dead, there’s a Run Fatboy Run. The geeky actor/writer may be a talented funnyman, but he’s also about as consistent as student union lager. His latest team-up with regular com-nerd Nick Frost sees them picking up a cartoon alien, voiced by Seth Rogen, during a ride through America’s Nevada. Trailed by the FBI and a bible-basher, they stroll through a bunch of daft scenarios involving toy swords, hillbillies and Sigourney Weaver. Yet despite the potty mouthed script, it’s no more than a soppy kid flick.
