Not to be confused with Rocky IV, where Sly Stallone banishes flat tops from existence AND achieves WORLD PEACE, this Oscar hopeful tells the eventful early years of the real-life ‘Irish’ Micky Ward, who went on to become a boxing champ after turning pro in 1985. Mark Wahlberg plays said protagonist, while Christian Bale nabs the show as his drugs-spangled half-brother - and trainer - Dicky Eklund. It’s a hearty, roast turkey dinner of a watch that, disturbingly, will leave you hollering encouragement at the screen. Just like Richard Keys does whilst watching pornography.
