*HEARTLESS, out at UK cinemas on 21 May 2010*
Combining hoodie gangs and TERROR is no new thing to British cinema (Harry Brown, Eden Lake), but extending the premise to include DEMONS and a loner with a facial birthmark shaped like a heart, certainly is.
A modern-day Faust tale with hooded demons running amok in East London, Jim Sturgess is the man resigned to solitude once his loving mum gets Molotov Cocktail'd alive. So he bargains with a devil-like figure to lose his unsightly birthmark and fall in love.
At one point in the film, he's forced to set himself alight, resulting in one particularly uncomfortable scene - and a shedload of horrific make-up. Check out our EXCLUSIVE VIDEO of said scene, and the gruesome effects that went with it...
