*FROM PARIS WITH LOVE, out 26 February*
John Travolta has made some great and 'not-so-great' transformations in recent films. In From Paris With Love, his tough guy undercover cop resembles Abobo out of '80s arcade side-scrolling beat-'em up Double Dragon, a big, chunky lunk with fists designed to make dents.
Written by French action maestro Luc Besson (Transporter, Leon, Fifth Element), From Paris With Love is a rollercoaster action balls-out about a refrained American political aide (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) who teams up with Travolta's gun-totin' mentalist as they hunt down bad guys in Paris.
After a slow opening 20-mins, it explodes into one mental action set-piece after another, with shedloads of comedy provided by Travolta's 'classy' one-liners. This is almost like a 21st century Lethal Weapon, and is perfect for men who get SWEATY watching Die Hard films.
