So that's London 2012 off the agenda then, if this new disaster movie is to be believed. Apocalyptic CLIPS and CITY-SMASHING review inside
Hasn't Roland Emmerich had enough of collapsing cities and the world blowing up in spectacular stylee? A glance down the world's most typecast director's roster throws up Independence Day, Godzilla, Stargate and The Day After Tomorrow. And now this, 2012, his most cliched, predictable, overblown, special FX-milking EPIC yet.
Here's the plot: due to some scientific geekiness involving the sun, the world is about to blow up five years earlier than expected. Troubled family man John Cusack is the heroic centre of attention as America crumbles all around him. Storywise, it's utter pants, in terms of gigantic scenes of cinematic apocalyptica, it's impressive. Leave your brain at home for this one, you won't be needing it.
