We like it when Sir Michael Caine gets involved in films about violence, torture and retribution. It reminds us of the beauty of Get Carter. It makes us want to take to the streets in smart suits and dispense our own particular brand of justice with no thought for our own mortality, only for peace of mind and moral equilibrium.
Harry Brown is such a film. Caine's titular character is fed up of his old estate becoming overrun with guns and drugs. When his best and only friend Leonard (David Bradley) is brutally murdered by a gang of thugs, Harry takes it upon himself to find out what happened. An Ex-Marine, Mr Brown doesn't go armed with a reasoned tone and polite questions: he likes guns, bin lliners, gaffer tape and tough choices....
Harry Brown is out on 11 November and you really should go and see it when it does come out. If you haven't yet been made aware of its existence, rectify this immediately (after cursing your social radar's inadequacy) by watching the HARRY BROWN TRAILER - IMMEDIATELY BELOW.
Then, get all pleased with yourself as you view a clip on maxim.co.uk that no-one else in the world has seen. Lionsgate knew of our admiration for the film and they gave it to us especially. So, yeah, WATCH THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE HARRY BROWN CLIP AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.
