Music flicks tend to be pretty hit-and-miss, but this biopic of The Notorious B.I.G. (aka Christopher Wallace) is an intelligent depiction of the late rapper's life. A chart-cracking figure of the East Coast rap scene, he was equally 'notorious' in the infamous '90s hip-hop feud, and was tragically shot dead in 1997. Although guilty of assuming too much pre-knowledge on the viewer's part, it's a solid rap opus that snarls down Eminem's 8 Mile with heavyweight confidence.
