The Russian Revolution can’t stop this tale

Set against the chaos of the 1917 revolution our heroes are torn apart by the war and by love, this epic spans a time when the whole world was turning on its head and has some amazing scenes of revolution in the streets, infantry charges into no man’s land and the ice of the Urals. Five Academy Awards and some incredible performances.

TRIVIA

• Even though it was released in 1965 the film was not shown in Russia until 1994.

• The inside of the ice palace was mostly made up specifically formed wax.
