And it is in the shape of William Munny, this Oscar laden western shook up the genre and gave us some of the most realistic and brutal gun fights of all time. This is the West as it was, gritty, harsh and unforgiving, there are no good guys in this movie both sides are bad to the bone.

• The name of Clint Eastwood's character, William Munny, was also a known alias used by Billy the Kid.

• Clint Eastwood, is an anagram for 'old west action.'
