The world’s tallest building is on fire, 135 floors, no way down, no way out! The Towering Inferno is the best of all the classic 70’s disaster movies. A fire starts due to poor wiring and construction boss who doesn’t mind cutting corners, thank God Fire Chief Steve McQueen and architect Paul Newman are about to get the star studded cast to safety, well some of them at least.
TRIVIA
• Steve McQueen did most of his stunts for the film, including having 7,000 gallons of water dumped on him in the climactic final attempt to put out the fire.
• At Steve McQueen's insistence, he and co-star Paul Newman had to have exactly the same number of lines of dialogue in the script.
