A powerhouse of a movie, visually stunning and emotionally intense. This is an epic tale of two men trying to protect a tribe of South American Indians from brutal subjugation by an 18th century colonial empire. Both men of the cloth, one (Jeremy Irons) does so by peaceful protest, the other an ex-mercenary (Robert De Niro) by the sword. It also has one of the most famous musical scores for any movie.
