WHAT'S THE STORY? Wage one man war on the Yakuza crime syndicate who's nabbed your girlfriend. There's millions of henchmen buggers to contend with, so you'd better bone up on those gun and sword combos.

TECHNICALLY SPEAKING: Flawed but great first-person action thriller set in modern Japan. Makes inventive (if initially tricky) use of the interactive Wii controller, as you wave it about like a madman.

CRAZY YAKUZA FACTS NO. 23: Yakuza soldiers hack off their finger tips as a punishment for failure. If they're particularly penitent they can opt for self disembowelment (as popularised by defeated samurai). This apparently hurts a bit.
