*RED DEAD REDEMPTION - out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on 30 April 2010*
We could be really lazy bastards and predict Red Dead Redemption will be like 'GTA in the Wild West', because, like, it's from Rockstar Games, and it's, um, a free-roamer set in the Wild West with cowboys and guns and violence and things.
But let's not be lazy, oh no. For a start, RDR is developed by the Rockstar San Diego studio that did the Midnight Club series rather than the GTA games, and it's also the sequel to its HUGELY underrated third-person shooter Red Dead Revolver.
In it, you play a Eastwood-ian type, strutting your gun-totin' self through frontier towns and mountain passes, getting embroiled in gunfights and swapping chin with plenty of colourful tobacco-spitters. Having loved its predecessor on PS2, and being ardent admirers of Rockstar's adult games, you could say we're very, very looking forward to this.
You could also say, that as a three-year-old one of us once poo'd in their cowboy hat after getting caught short at a fancy dress party. And he found it a month later in his cupboard. It had turned white.
Both are entirely true. Cowboy stories are so cool...
