WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Hermit seeks revenge on town nobleman by crafting lanterns out of human skin.

ANY GOOD? The East's answer to Hammer Horror, told in the format of a gory, swordthrusting, martial arts movie. Miniscule budget, plenty of fun.

MOST NOTABLE FOR: The ridiculous laughs/cackles of all the characters. One of them goes "hee-hee-hee" in a high-pitched squeal, another rumbles monotonously in a booming "ha-ha-ha". Both sound like twits.

SHOULD STAR: Buffalo Bill from Silence Of The Lambs.

BUT DOESN'T? Nope. You get a masked swordsman instead.
