What's it about? Ray Elwood (Joaquin Phoenix) is a maverick US soldier stationed at a West German army base during the Cold War. His sidelines (such as, say, making heroin) come under threat when a new 'top sergeant' arrives.
Any good? Like an episode of Bilko directed by Satan, this is an enjoyably scabrous dark comedy.

Look out for: The bit when three soldiers go on a heroin-induced rampage in a tank.
