Flags Of Our Fathers:
Clint Eastwood 's film of the Battle of Iwo Jima in WW2 is still good the second time around. It focuses on the soldiers who were photographed lifing the US flag, an image destined to become an iconic symbol of conflict.
Letters From Iwo Jima:
This companion film to Flags Of Our Fathers - showing the battle from the Japanese point of view - is actually the better flick. Showing 'the enemy' stuck in their barricades, waiting to be killed, it's a harrowing but brilliant story.
