Music, drugs, being mad for it... and blowing 30 grand on a table What's it about?
Basically, it's the Tony Wilson story, with Steve Coogan as the much misunderstood and widely ridiculed Factory Records guru. The film follows his often farcical dealings with such legendary bands as New Order, Happy Mondays and Joy Division.
What's it really about?
Music, drugs, being mad for it and blowing it all and spending 30 grand on a table.
Who are all those famous faces?
Well, if you watch carefully you'll spot cameos by Mark E Smith (The Fall), Paul Ryder (Happy Mondays), Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Mani (Stone Roses) and, er, Nigel Pivaro (Coronation Street)
What's so great about the DVD?
Sorted for bonus material! There are commentaries by Tony Wilson and Steve Coogan, a who's who of the main Madchester players, a whole fistful of deleted scenes, interviews, and a documentary. Double top, or what?
Best performance by a drug?
Despite competition from cannabis, cocaine, heroin and crack (and that was just the Happy Mondays spending a quiet night in), the winner is Ecstacy now who wants a hug?
