It's a bit weird for blokes to objectively watch a porn film with the idea of reviewing it. That, as a rule, isn't what men tend to do with such materials. It's also, for the most part, directly aimed at us, so it's all about boobs, bums and vaginas (teehee), and as long as there's a money shot at the end, who cares right?
Enter then, acclaimed writer and director Erika Lust (we don't think that's her birth name) with her erotic film, Cabaret Desire. Aimed more at women and couples, the film was conceived to redfine sensuality and arousal in unsuspected ways.
This isn't your atypical "I've come to fix the fridge" style of porn movie, this one actually has a storyline. Set in a brothel of sorts, where people meet with the idea of getting down to some hunka chunka, tales range from a bisexual girl caught between two lovers to a cat burglar who seduces her literary hero. The feel is very much reminiscent of a (well made) softcore porn film, with all the added benefits of hardcore.
Erika Lust continues to do well with her own take on erotica, and if you would like a movie to introduce your girlfriend into the world of porn watching, you could do alot worse than show her this.
No seriously, you really, really could. So don't.
