WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Not much. Just a few aliens wanting to nick our planet. (Except Milton Keynes, apparently).

ANY GOOD? Explosive, big-bollocked sci-fi bonanza that's a great complementary antidote to a huge box of popcorn.

BEST BITS: The entire sequence, with all that rumbling and stuff. We'd not experienced so much tension since the 1985 world snooker final.

EXTRAS: This one's got a second disc full of 'making of...' style featurettes, original book analysis and Spielberg interviews (he directed it, see).
