Not as successful as the ace Sin City, but carrying no less ambition, Alan Moore's yarns of masked vigilantes stomps onto the big screen with epic purpose and glorious B-MOVIE PUNCHY-UPS. At least when they're not all talking and being annoyingly self-analytical, that is.
While it dazzles on the eyeballs, movie Watchmen stutters in its attempts to recreate the noirish comic-books, losing the core plot to numerous flashbacks and political statement. But it's definitely a bold attempt, and a slick adult superhero flick. Non-Watchmen readers take precaution though: unless you're familiar with the novels, you could be left wondering what the frig is going on!
