Steven Soderbergh does a grand old job of bringing the beardy, beret-headed revolutionary to life, with this two-part epic charting the rise and death of one of history's most iconic mugshots.
Ernesto 'Che' Guevara was the Argentine-born guerilla leader, who shot down Cuba's US-funded dictatorship in the 1950s (thus installing Fidel Castro in power), before trying to spread 'the word' throughout South America. That was until he was captured in Bolivia and brutally executed.
While Part One focuses on the Cuban victory, via military flashbacks and a UN meeting of world delegates, Part Two is the pacier, more action-loaded chapter. As a team, they make for a sort of Godfather 1 and 2 of jungle warfare (although inevitably not quite as epic and without the massive time jump).
Alternatively, you could just view them for what they really are: a rather entertaining romp through vital 20th century history.
