Despite being sold as an American Pie-style gross-out comedy, Role Models has far more to offer. Written by star Paul Rudd, it follows two bored salesmen who, after losing it on the job and driving their truck into a statue, land 150 hours' community service mentoring difficult kids. As you'd expect, the kids they're lumbered with are a nightmare: Sean William Scott (the womanising Wheeler) gets paired with foul-mouthed tiny Ronnie, while Rudd's Danny gets stuck with nerdy, role-play loving Augie (Superbad's McLovin').
The film's strength is the dialogue, which ranges from the superbly offensive (Ronnie's "Honky wanted a fistful of my balls!') to the amusingly mundane, including an argument over the correct lyrics to KISS songs. In short: funny, feel-good and filthy.
