Summer's in full swing, the tour bus is getting smellier, our tan's are finally rivalling Alex Ferguson's and our shows are now so sweaty that kayaks are available for hire to paddle through the perspiration of the dancefloor to the safety of the bar.
Festival season starts up, which means catering buffet dinners (fuck yeah) and hot cups of carling (fuck off). Right now we're in athens playing a weekend do curated in an old gas works. The backstage looks like a crematorium, the walls lined with furnaces. Bizarre. The line-up for tomorrow looks good; junior boys, aeroplane and mathew jonson. Shame that we'll be on an EasyJet flight back home with nothing but eight quid Pringles for entertainment. Thanks a lot Stelios. Boo-hoo us, eh?
On monday we've got our pitch black gig in the dark. Hats off to Stevie Wonder. I don't know how he does it. We've been experimenting with night vision goggles, UV tape, black out screens, the works. It feels like we've been set a team building exercise by some clueless boss sensing tension in the ranks.
We've finally finished writing recording a new song, 'Kiss of Life', which we want to get ready to play live as soon as we have any time to spare. Stupidly, we decided it should feature a fleet of samba drummers, so it's top to toe time on the bus bunks.
That's it for us. hope you're all having fun in the sun. Loads of love.
